“AI Mexico Principles”

AI should benefit people and the planet by driving inclusive growth, sustainable development and well-being.

AI systems should be designed in a way that respects the rule of law, human rights, democratic values and diversity, and they should include appropriate safeguards – for example, enabling human intervention where necessary – to ensure a fair and just society.

There should be transparency and responsible disclosure around AI systems to ensure that people understand AI-based outcomes and can challenge them.

AI systems must function in a robust, secure and safe way throughout their life cycles and potential risks should be continually assessed and managed.

Organisations and individuals developing, deploying or operating AI systems should be held accountable for their proper functioning in line with the above principles.

“We are building an AI powerhouse!”

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the opportunity of our times. Industry and society will be transformed in many ways for the best. The transformation will not take place on its own. In fact, the transformation is complex and can be a large investment. Few know where to start. AI is not easy to master.

“AI MEXICO was founded in 2019 to help individuals, companies and governments achieve success with AI.”

“There is a huge worldwide AI industry-ready human capital shortage.”

The anticipated economic and technological acceleration that AI would fuel for developed markets is at risk. A shortage of industry-ready AI human capital threatens the rate of production needed to satisfy market demands.

Emerging market economies, which are already at a disadvantage, are also at risk. The benefits of the anticipated gains in productivity AI would achieve in industry, may never diffuse through the economy as expected. This is because there is not enough industry-ready human capital in AI to integrate the technologies in enough of industry to be meaningful.

“Everything points to education as the bottleneck”

The AI Pool Size

Studies vary, but all agree on the fact that the shortage is real. JF Fagne’s “Global AI Talent Report 2019” puts the pool size of AI “academic” talent at ~22,400 worldwide. This “academic” talent is not all capable of developing industry-strength commercial AI products. The report points to pool size of AI talent for industry, one that can develop commercial AI applications at only a few thousand worldwide! The reports states the need of millions today!

“Apply proven processes to create industry-ready human capital in AI.”

AI MEXICO possess knowledge, experience, connections, difficult to obtain know-how and stellar reputation acquired in almost twenty years in the global industry.
