The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) and its affiliate, the Research Foundation of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, is a vibrant, collegial and highly respected community of health care professionals who have been dedicated to advancing the understanding, prevention and treatment of disorders of the colon, rectum and anus for nearly 125 years. ASCRS represents approximately 4,000 physicians and other health care providers interested in the specialty of colon, rectal and anal surgery. This position will be available beginning March 1, 2022. Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Project Specialist will assist in a wide variety of marketing projects for the Society and the Research Foundation. Our Project Specialist is a strong and versatile writer and editor who is well organized and sweats the details. You are a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. You identify opportunities and challenges and successfully demonstrate the autonomy, initiative and expertise needed to quickly develop solutions that focus on results.
You will work closely with the Manager, Marketing and Communications to provide logistical and administrative support for marketing communications-related projects, in line with privacy and related regulations. You will support social media strategy, web design and public relations efforts to enhance the ASCRS brand.
Key Responsibilities for Marketing Communications :
Collaborate with internal departments on marketing copy, email content and communications strategy. Conceptualize, write, edit, and produce customized marketing communications materials, including print and electronic Ensure that spelling and grammar are correct and that the spacing, and appearance is accurate for final format.
Help internal departments design, create and update applicable web pages while maintaining the brand and style guide requirements (Kentico experience a plus).
Help with marketing communications, website, presentations, reports, online communities, social media and other platforms as
Contribute to, prepare and implement assigned components of marketing and advertising campaigns with direction from the Manager, Marketing and Communications.
Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns.
Assist with support for committees. Committee meetings are normally held in the evening as our surgeon members are in the operating room during business hours.
Set up and send timely ad hoc and automated emails, pulling information from and entering information into the member database. Ensure that appropriate review and necessary approvals are in place.
Coordinate marketing collateral for Society and Foundation representation at allied
Contribute to maintaining a favorable public image of the ASCRS brand through various public relations tactics, including the development and dissemination of press releases via ASCRS communication channels and externally via online news wire service.
What qualifications are needed?
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience and at least 4 years of marketing communication experience, preferably in a health care society or other professional
Experience working remotely, within a small team environment wearing multiple You are flexible and understand the need to be nimble in a lean organization.
Strong collaboration skills across all You possess leadership qualities including empathy and accountability, to form strong relationships with colleagues, members and external stakeholders.

A digital citizen with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Intermediate to advanced experience with iMIS or other association management software, including reporting. Strong familiarity with social media including advertising platforms (LinkedIn Campaign Manager and Facebook Business Manager), Google Ads and Analytics, YouTube and email delivery Expense reconciliation (Concur or similar), web conferencing tools, project management software e.g., Basecamp, Survey Monkey, web editing, web community management (Higher Logic). Strong knowledge in web editing, design and functionality.
