Senior Marketing Technology Strategist | CMG Consulting
Nationwide, Senior Marketing Technology Strategist Location: Flexible Remote Location, East Coast hours required
Expertise: CMG has an immediate need for a Senior Manager Consultant with Marketing Technology expertise critical to Business Transformation and Digital Marketing engagements. This role requires demonstrated: fluency in understanding of enterprise marketing technology solutions; comfort in advising senior business, technology, and marketing leaders; and confidence creating strategies and evaluating tradeoffs in the analytics, technology, customer engagement, and data management spaces. Excellence across team facilitation, technical and complex project management, and stakeholder management are required. This Marketing Technology Strategist role blends responsibilities of a Strategy Consultant, Senior PM, Scrum Master, Executive Advisor, and Sr. Business Analyst to drive mission critical, high-profile (C-Suite visibility at Fortune 500) projects to revamp Marketing Technology portfolios.

What a Senior Manager does at CMG:
Leads project engagements, serving as a trusted advisor to project sponsors
Manages both direct reports & project teams, serving as a leader and mentor
Proactively builds subject matter expertise across client industries; integrates market trends, industry developments, and evolving best practice into daily work; and utilizes technical expertise to deploy innovative work
Navigates ambiguity to deal with the unknown and move forward
Enhances CMG team skills and propels internal & external work forward, advancing firm capabilities and processes
Displays a comprehensive understanding of CMG’s offerings, with curiosity demonstrated beyond Marketing Technology
Supports business development opportunities for new and existing clients, collaborating on efforts with the leadership team and organizing proposals and RFP Responses (including scope, budget, content, and management of team)
Bachelor’s Degree required, preference for major and / or minors in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, IT or Information Systems, or similar
8+ years of business consulting experience in marketing technology , digital transformation , customer systems , or Sales and Marketing IT .
Deep understanding of marketing operations and customer database management
Robust understanding of enterprise marketing technology ecosystem s : solutions, components, vendors, architecture, and implementations
Exemplary project and program management skills with concrete methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Prince2, SAFe, Lean, Six Sigma) – structuring projects, managing profitability, and ensuring delivery with a consulting team and with clients
Proven leadership and team management within a consulting firm or highly consultative professional or technology services organization, including experiences leading strategy, change management, and process improvements
Excellent communication skills and the ability to anticipate clients’ unarticulated needs
A drive to develop team capabilities through daily coaching and support
Direct experience managing Agencies and / or third-party (external) teams in complex environments
Success leading and facilitating cross-functional teams to exceed goals and consistently deliver quality work – specifically, international or remote / distributed teams.
Bonus Qualifications: (*Not required, but helpful):
Backend or operational experience with Marketo and / or Adobe technology suite
Industry-recognized certifications in marketing technologies (Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Sales Cloud, Mulesoft, Bizible, Google Ads, Adobe Analytics, etc)
Scrum Master certification (or other advance Scrum Alliance / equivalent certifications)
Technology Architecture or Portfolio Management experience
Quota bearing business development experience growing firm revenue for new and existing clients
Further Degrees: MBA or Master’s in Management helpful if fewer years of consulting experience, of background outside of business and technology space
